A lock that sticks, needs jiggling or only works “if you lift the door a bit” is a lock that’s about to fail — often at the worst possible time. We repair whatever can be repaired and only recommend replacement when it is genuinely the better option.

Does my lock meet insurance standards?
Most UK home insurers expect final exit doors on timber doors to have a BS3621 5-lever mortice lock — look for the Kitemark and “BS3621” on the faceplate. uPVC and composite doors should have an anti-snap cylinder. If you’re not sure, Mark can check during any visit at no extra cost.

An old 3-lever sashlock upgraded to a British Standard 5-lever rebated sashlock.
